Within , Browsers auto render & display certain “HTML Entities” and “HTML Entity Codes” as characters: <br /><br /> < shows as < -- & shows as & -- etc.<br /><br /> <br /><br /> Browsers also auto change any “HTML Entity Codes” entered in a <textarea> into the resultant display characters BEFORE UPLOADING.
