Music Download Sales Top Ten Milllion

According to UK record industry trade association the BPI, download sales for 2005 passed ten million in July. This represents almost double the figure for the whole of 2004 (5.7 million). The figure is good news for the UK music industry, which also reports that legal downloads are now growing faster than illegal file sharing

M-commerce sites ‘failing to satisfy users’

Mobile customers are “profoundly dissatisfied” by m-commerce sites that don’t allow them to make purchases, according to a new survey.

The report, by Strategy Analytics, found mobile users didn’t like being limited to research and pre-purchase evaluation and considered m-commerce sites to be vastly inferior to their fixed internet counterparts.

Cashback shopping scheme claims increased uptake

Cashback shopping website GreasyPalm says it has delivered £5m in cash rebates for its users since it launched in 2003.

Users of GreasyPalm earn cash rewards on the purchases they make through the scheme’s 850 participating retailers, including Marks & Spencer, Tesco, and Lloyds TSB.
